On arrival in Tauranga, you will be met by your guide and start the day with a drive around the beach side resort of 'Mount Maunganui' as your guide explains the iconic landmark of 'Mauao' - the huge mountain located at the entrance to the harbour -before making your way to Rotoura, stopping at a 'Kiwi Fruit Orchard'. Here you will learn of one of New Zealand's major export products the "Kiwi Fruit" In Rotorua we will visit 'Whakarewarewa Maori Village' where you will be explained the 'everyday' lifestyle of this Maori Village and hear the stories as told by the inhabitants of this area surrounded by Geothermal and Geyser activity. Be entertained in 'song' and 'dance', as your hosts showcase their culture for you to enjoy.

    Cultural Trail of Tauranga

We arrive at ‘Oropi’ on the outskirts of Tauranga. Set amidst serene landscape, you will receive a brief ‘powhiri’ – welcome ceremony by your hosts for the day before enjoying a ‘short nature walk’ through native flora and fauna whilst receiving a commentary about the 'Legend of Mauao', the iconic landmark of this area, from your Indigenous Trails’ Guide. Highlight of this activity include ‘photo shoots’ by a ‘natural occurring waterfall’.
